This week was hard for me. The pandemic is starting to feel endless and as I was once feeling hopeful that's starting to fade. Here in the northeast we had a huge snowstorm in the beginning of the week. While it was beautiful and so much fun for the kids, it just felt like a lot. Between no school and Maggie with snow constantly in her fur, I just feel tired. And a bit defeated. Though my biggest struggle is that I feel guilty for feeling any way other than grateful these days. I have a hard time allowing myself to feel sad or stressed or upset while I have it so well compared to so many others. Anyway, onto lighter things...
What I'm Reading:
I just couldn't get into Writer and Lovers. I decided to give up and get started on the monthly book pick, Head Over Heels. I'm about halfway through and I love it. Anyone else reading with me?
What My Kids Are Reading:
Penny has been super into this Good Morning Yoga book. We read it and she does the yoga all the time. I'm thinking of getting Good Night Yoga as well.
Muncha Muncha Muncha is such a cute and fun book that we've been reading a lot lately.
What We're Watching:
We started watching the show Reign on Netflix. It's pretty soapy but it's light and keeping our attention.
What I'm Wearing:
I usually live in jeans and t-shirts and I'm always on the lookout for a great tee. I found this Madewell one that is super cute.
With the cold and snow I'm mostly wearing cozy clothes. I just got these Lou & Grey sweatpants that are so soft and comfortable. Joanna from A Cup of Jo recommended them and they're great. They are the best things to put on on a snow day. I also made my first Skims purchase. This lounge shirt is beyond soft and cozy. It looks cute with leggings along with sweats. Do you have anything Skims? I feel like I need more now.
I really have started to like the brand Summersalt. I love the cute leggings and bra set that I have so I decided to try a few other things. I have a long torso and have never been able to wear a one piece bathing suit. I've tried so many brands that claim to be for long torsos and they just don't work. I ordered 10 Summersalt suits and this Sidestroke one in the long torso style fit perfectly. I honestly couldn't believe it. It's super flattering to boot. I picked up this soft sweater as well. Great with leggings or jeans.
What My Kids Are Playing With:
Penny and I had a great time making heart crayons. They were so easy. We used these molds.
What I'm Excited About:
To be honest, I'm not feeling that excited about much these days. I'm hoping that changes soon.
Random things:
Spray Aquaphor has been great for my kids. It doesn't feel as greasy and feels cool when you spray it. So helpful in these cold, dry months.
I love the Slip silk scrunchies.
These Wander eye masks have been great for the mornings. They stay on nicely and don't slip down so I can wear them when I'm making breakfast and getting the kids ready for for school.
Tell me what's going on with you.
xo Kate
