I love playing board games with my kids. It's a nice way to play with them without having to pretend I'm Owelette or a construction truck. I also think that part of it is the nostalgia of playing board games when I was a kid. There are also a lot many benefits for preschoolers - turn taking, number skills, thinking ahead, and learning to be a good sport - just to name a few.
Chutes and Ladders and Candy Land and Connect 4 - all great old school games that my kids enjoy and so do I!
Hot Potato - such a fun game to play with a group!
Zingo - This is a great game that's fun for kids and adults. It's basically Bingo that you deal yourself. There are so many versions of this game. We love Sight Word Zingo as well.
Let's Go Fishin' - Both my kids love this game of catching fish.
Count Your Chickens! - This is a cooperative board game which means everyone works together to reach the same goal. I love that. It's also great for younger kids just starting to learn board games.
The Sneaky, Snacky Squirrel Game - This is a great first board game.
Pop the Pig! - This is a game that's a lot of fun for all ages.
What board games do your kids love? Which ones am I missing?
